Everyone knows about “writer’s block”.

Artist’s block is also a real thing and I’ve been struggling with it the past year or more. The ache to create is there, but actually creating anything is like trying to drink peanut butter through a straw. Chunky peanut butter.

But over the past several weeks, the creative process has slowly been blossoming again and I’m so thankful! ✨🪴

There has always been a correlation through my years as an artist of the most inspiration coming during some of the harder times physically/mentally. And that proves itself still true.

The Lord is so gracious to continually show Himself so faithful in the trials, and to gently show my soul beauty in the midst of brokenness.

I don’t say this flippantly: He is good. Constantly and unfalteringly good. 💛

I realize it is snowing where I’m from and my social media newsfeed is full of autumn and winter pictures and friends are belting out the Christmas tunes already…..but I now live in the tropics. And I’m not even sure how to grasp that it’s NOVEMBER. Because we are NOT belting out Christmas tunes, our AC is set to 80° and it feels cool, there are palm trees swaying outside my door, and we just weathered our first hurricane/tropical storm this week. 🏝💨🌊🍋🍉

So here’s a painting that has nothing to do with what I know as “November”. 😅

It’s been a doozy of a week and I’m so grateful for the peace that the Lord gives and for His sustaining grace in every moment.

Stand firm, stand strong.

I know my God and there is no place for fear or wavering. He is good. Right now. In every situation, in every moment, in every circumstance. He is faithful and victorious. No matter the magnitude of the mountain, no matter the wobbliness of my legs, no matter the tears, no matter the intensity of loneliness, no matter the trial you face…He knows: He has gone before us and He is here now. What glorious, unshakable truth!
